Is The Biggest Loser Resort program only for overweight individuals?

No. Our program is structured to include guests who come for a variety of reasons. The primary motivators are generally to lose substantial weight or to experience an active fitness getaway ─ while learning how to achieve and maintain overall wellness.

Do you have to be in shape to particiapte?

No. Our program accommodates men and women at all fitness levels. All you need to be is willing to try your best!

What is the age limit for guests?

We accommodate teens in our program (ages 14 – 17) but they must be accompanied by an adult to all activities. Please note: Our resorts do not offer daycare services.

How much does it cost?

If I live nearby, do I still have to stay at the resort to participate?

We offer flexible plans to accommodate our guests. Please call our toll free number or click on our live chat to discuss the options available in the various resorts

How long do people stay at the resort?

The program runs in 7-day cycles with the minimum stay being one week with mandatory check-in on Sunday. Guests are welcome to stay for as long as they wish – many guests stay for multiple weeks at a time.

What happens if I book a reservation but end up having to cancel it?

If you have to cancel or reschedule, we will hold your balance as a credit on file for a future stay for the period of one year. If you cancel or reschedule your stay within two weeks of arrival a $300 per week rescheduling fee will be applied. As a resort policy, we do not accept cancellations via email. To request a cancellation or reschedule of your stay please call 877.825.8878 and select the resort you have an existing reservation with.

What are the features of a typical guest room?

What are the facilities like at the resorts?

The facilities at each resort vary depending on its unique location. Visit the individual location pages for details on what is offered at the various locations.

What are the workout facilities like?

Each resort features gym facilities with top-of-the-line equipment, spacious aerobics rooms with great sound systems to keep you motivated and a swimming pool for aquatic workouts. Some locations feature additional facilities such as tennis and/or basketball courts. What is the food like? What are some typical menu items?

Guests enjoy delicious spa cuisine meals daily, including breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner with dessert. Designed by an integrative team of world-class executive chefs, registered dietitians and holistic nutritionists, the weekly menu does not disappoint. Each delicious, calorie-controlled meal features top quality ingredients, in just the right nutritious balance of proteins, carbohydrates and healthy fats. (Note: Snacks are available throughout the day if needed).

Lunch: Turkey/avocado wraps, chili with corn bread, soups and salads

What is a typical day like?

Our goal is to help you reach yours. Every day is specifically designed to provide you with the activities, education, nourishment and personal attention you need to get healthy and stay motivated. This program will challenge you physically and mentally to reach and surpass your own expectations while empowering you to change your life. A typical day includes all four pillars of what makes our program unique and effective: fitness/workouts, wellness education, spa cuisine meals and camaraderie with your fellow guests. Activities listed below vary per resort.

What types of exercise classes are offered?

You’ll build confidence, strength and endurance through a variety of boot camp-style and fitness classes that will keep you moving and never bored. Our certified professional trainers and instructors will coach and encourage you through cardio, endurance, strength and stretching classes that may include (offerings vary by location): circuit training, toning, aquatics, kickboxing, indoor cycling, dancing, Zumba® and many others! As a unique featured activity, most resorts offer exhilarating hiking sessions as a complement to the daily fitness routine. The Niagara resort offers specialized Outdoor Activities to keep your workouts exciting and invigorating.

Hiking for 2 hours is intimidating to me...will I be able to do it?

This featured activity plays an important role in your workout regimen at the resorts. The diverse locations of our resorts offer a splendid array of amazing trail options for terrain, cardio intensity and experience level – but all feature breathtakingly beautiful scenery. All guides are CPR, First Aid-certified and specially trained to lead, motivate and care for all guests on these memorable, calorie-burning daily workouts. (Niagara guests participate in our specialized Outdoor Activities program)

Who are the trainers and educators?

Our certified professional trainers and instructors offer their own unique style of coaching – but all are exceptional motivators and experts in teaching workout techniques. Our education program is led by a team of registered dietitians, holistic nutritionists, life coaches and certified trainers. (The featured lecturers vary by location).

What will I learn in the education series? Be honest, are they boring?

This program isn’t a diet; we promote creating a healthy lifestyle. Our entertaining lecture series covers the tips you need to make smart choices and achieve results through topics such as portion control, product label reading, menu planning, intuitive eating and strategies to lose weight and keep it off. Our educational series will not put you to sleep – we promise! Each lecture has been specially designed to entertain, educate and empower you to make healthy and permanent changes when you return home. All are taught by a professional team of registered dietitians, nutritionists, life coaches, licensed professional counselors, chefs and certified trainers.

When I am packing for my stay, what should I bring with me?

This list will vary seasonally depending on your resort location. For your convenience, a retail store is located on each property offering apparel, shoes, fitness gear, books, music and sundry items. Below is a recommended packing list:

  • Winter weather apparel (gloves, long pants)

* Pack more than one swimsuit/trunks due to multiple aquatic classes.

I can't bear the thought of leaving my pet for a week...can I bring it with me?

Unfortunately, no. Our resorts do not accommodate pets. If you are attending with a documented service animal, you are required to communicate this to our reservations team at the time of booking to ensure proper preparations can be made.

What services are offered at the spa? Are these services included in the weekly fee?

Spa services are not included in your booking fee. All spa services are optional and charged additionally. Typical spa offerings include soothing body treatments, luxurious facials, acupuncture, stylish haircuts/color treatments, manicures/pedicures – and even complete makeovers!

What if I need to cancel a scheduled spa appointment?

As a resort policy, if you cancel your spa appointment with less than 12 hours notice, you will be charged in full for the spa service/treatment. If you provide more than 12 hours notice, you will avoid being charged. To reschedule or cancel a spa appointment, please contact the team at the Front Desk.

Is there a smoking policy at your resorts?

The Biggest Loser Resorts are proud to offer smoke-free guest rooms and facilities. Smoking on the premises or in the guest rooms is strictly prohibited. A $500 cleaning fee will be charged to any guest who is found in violation of this policy in their guest room.

It sounds like I'll be working out and perspiring a lot...what if I need to do laundry?

Laundry services are available at all resorts for your convenience.  Inquire with the resort representative upon check in for exact details.
