Baseline Fitness Assessment – What we measure and why?

You start your journey with a cardio and strength body only assessment that you can perform at home, this assessment helps our staff establish everyone’s capabilities. What movements does this involve you may ask? The assessment will involve movement’s such as squats, crunches, sit-ups, push-ups along with a jog or walk at a challenging pace for a defined distance. These exercises are done in a defined amount of time, then we repeat the same exercises again on Friday to show you how strong YOU have become, and you will be amazed by the improvement you make in 4 days! Right now if you are doubting yourself “Oh I can not do this”, Yes you can! There are many different levels that are provided and you choose your level. All we ask from you, is to believe you can!

Types of Exercises you will be Doing on the Program

Everyone thinks you need a gym and hours of free time to workout; we are here to show you do not and can do great workout in 30 -45 minutes. Each class runs for an hour, so you may ask what happens during the remaining 15 minutes of the class?  We teach you how to move your body properly and efficiently, but we also want to keep you safe from injury. The other 15-30 minutes come from a proper explanation of the class, warm up as well as a cool down stretch. Our program is based on interval training, we bring your heart rate up then back down to make the workout as efficient as possible. In other words, when a car goes at a steady pace it will use less fuel, but if it stops and goes fast it will burn more fuel. Think of the car as your body and the fuel as the calories you burn. Yes, a gym is great, and we do have one that we put to good use, but we will show you multiple ways of doing fun exercising anywhere you like.

We teach you proper form, correct breathing, expose you to a variety of classes such yoga, kickboxing, water aerobics, cardio tennis (resort depending) to HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) the classes are ENDLESS!!!

We Make Exercising Fun

When people arrive at our resorts they are nervous and scared but by late Monday morning those nerves and doubts disappear. Getting fit and healthy is about a change in mentality where it is viewed as a change in lifestyle rather than a chore and it is our job is to teach you how to make this happen. WE ARE NOT A BOOTCAMP, YES if you do not come to class we are going to track you down, but we will not scream in your face or make you puke, this is not how we roll. We are here to show you no matter what level you are at or what injury you may have there is always something that you can do.

Thinking of Staying for Multiple Weeks?

We welcome guests who want to stay for longer than a week, congratulations to those of you who have started your journey, we are with you every step of the way and thank you for trusting us. YOU ARE A WARRIOR! After your first week stay, it is your option if you would like to attend the lectures again, or participate in our “stay over classes”. These class our taught during the same time as lectures. In addition, at an extra cost you can book one-on-one sessions with our amazing staff  to support the things you have learnt and put in some extra work. Lastly, If you are heading to one of our resorts that offer other amenities (at extra cost) such as Tennis feel free to book a lesson! The fitness activities vary by resort so check out the resort pages to find out more.

Tracking Your Progress

At the resort yes we have you weigh in, but we do not believe that is the only scale to measure that is why we have our In-Body Machine. This state of the art scale not only measures weight, but muscle, body fat percentage and will give you your Baseline Metabolic Rate. We take measurements from three areas – chest, stomach and hips. We will explain all measurements at the beginning of the week as well as when you depart. Along with this, progress maybe a faster recovery time to catch your breath, jogging when you have never jogged or just taking time for you is an accomplishment on it own!
